You’re already enjoying the benefits of ATPE membership: the peace of mind knowing our legal resources* are just a call away if employment concerns arise, our advocacy tools that empower you to influence public education laws and policies, over 80 hours of on-demand CPE, and more than 25 exclusive discounts on everyday products and services to recoup the cost of your dues. Why not share these benefits with your colleagues? Chances are you’re already doing so—if you’re ready to take it a step further, we invite you to become an ATPE campus representative.

Campus representatives serve as the voice of ATPE on their campuses. They may work in a district with an ATPE local unit, or they may represent ATPE in a district without a local unit. ATPE will provide the training, resources, and networks to ensure you can truly make a difference in the lives of Texas educators and students.

What does the campus rep role entail?

  • Serving as a visible leader on your campus.
  • Sharing why you love ATPE with your colleagues and asking them to join.
  • Distributing, collecting, and processing ATPE paper membership applications for payroll deduction, and encouraging potential and renewing members to go online for substantial discounts when paying by credit card, bank draft, or check.
  • Sharing information about ATPE benefits and activities and legislative happenings throughout the year.

An ATPE campus representative is a lifeline for new and current members to keep them informed of membership benefits, including legislative matters and issues that impact educators every day—and it’s FUN!

Here’s what Norma Vega, 2020 Campus Rep of the Year (Local Unit with 501–1,000 Members), La Joya ATPE, had to say about being a campus rep for ATPE: “I love to meet people and chat, so recruiting to me is fun. I approach the idea of recruiting members to ATPE as a way of helping my colleagues have a real choice and belong to a truly professional organization that empowers every one of us with the tools necessary to perform our jobs at the highest quality and level possible.”
