In the Summer 2015 issue of ATPE News, readers learned about one member’s efforts to help prevent student suicide by enhancing educator training. After losing his teenage son, Jonathan, to suicide, Coach Kevin Childers worked with ATPE’s Governmental Relations team to introduce House Bill 2186, which will authorize two hours of annual suicide prevention training for Texas educators.
