A Message from ATPE Regarding COVID-19 and Your Member Benefits
As COVID-19 continues to spread, we wanted to let you know about the measures ATPE is putting into place so we can continue serving our members during this time of uncertainty. Our first and foremost concern is your health and safety, and our thoughts and prayers are with anyone who is already experiencing symptoms.
As schools close and standardized testing requirements are waived, rumors and misinformation begin to spread quickly.
ATPE’s Coronavirus FAQ Page,
atpe.org/coronavirus
,
is a source for confirmed information.
Please bookmark it and check back frequently as we will continue updating it.
All ATPE staff members are working hard to support you during this time:
As always, please contact ATPE at (800) 777-2873 or
members@atpe.org
if you need assistance with your membership.
If you are an eligible member who needs to contact the ATPE Member Legal Services Department, please access the
Member Legal Services Intake System (MLSIS)
.
Again, check
atpe.org/coronavirus
for the latest updates on how COVID-19 closures are affecting public education in Texas.
In addition, our regions and local units hold many meetings and social gatherings in the spring. ATPE has communicated with our volunteer leadership at all levels encouraging them to follow the CDC’s current recommendations to postpone or cancel meetings during the next eight weeks, and we are providing assistance to leaders so important association business such as elections may be conducted virtually. In addition, ATPE will hold its spring standing committee meetings virtually.
We know you are on the frontlines of keeping Texas families safe: disinfecting classrooms, preparing curbside takeout meals, modifying instructional plans, and making difficult decisions about the remainder of the school year. As always, it is an honor to support the state’s largest community of educators.
Thank you for trusting ATPE with your membership.
