As event organizers across the country begin to reimagine how people can experience festivals and concerts in the coming year, SXSW is no different. According to SXSW’s late September announcement, for the first time in the festival’s existence, the 2021 event will be completely virtual.

The SXSW EDU conference will take place March 9–11, 2021, and SXSW Online will follow from March 16–20, 2021. SXSW is planning to offer the same features online they would normally offer in person, including keynote speakers, networking opportunities, showcases, screenings, and educational sessions.

Of note, SXSW is working with the Austin city officials and public health authorities on the possibility for a 2021 physical event. Click here to sign up for updates. You can also find official updates on social media using #SXSWEDU.
