Early voting for the November 5, 2019, constitutional election runs now through Friday, November 1.

Early voting allows Texans a chance to vote at the time and location most convenient for their schedule. During the two-week period, you may vote at ANY early voting location in your county of residence. You can find early voting locations via the Texas Secretary of State’s My Voter Page or contact your county clerk. For more information about the election, including sample ballots and what you need to bring with you to the polls, visit votetexas.gov.

In addition to a few special elections in various districts and local ballot measures, Texas voters will be deciding whether to approve 10 state constitutional amendments. A few of the amendments could have an impact on public education funding in the future. Read about them on ATPE’s advocacy blog at TeachtheVote.org.

For an in-depth review of all the proposed constitutional amendments, visit the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Texas website. You may also create a sample ballot to print out and take to the polls with you using vote411.org.

ATPE strongly encourages educators to make a habit of voting in every single election. Be sure to take advantage of the convenience of early voting, and make your voice heard. Together, we can stand up and show our support for public education.
