ATPE Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year Award

Recognize an outstanding campus rep

The ATPE Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year Award acknowledges special ATPE volunteers who prove themselves essential to the continued growth and development of our grassroots organization. Each recipient receives a check for $1,000. The award is presented in four categories:

  • Local units/ISDs with 1–200 members
  • Local units/ISDs with 201–500 members
  • Local units/ISDs with 501–1,000 members
  • Local units/ISDs with 1,001+ members

NOTE: The application is now online and will be sent directly to nominees.
  1. Local units may nominate one or more campus representatives. Only one representative per campus may be nominated. Each local unit will determine the nomination process best suited for its needs. Region leaders may nominate at-large campus reps.
  2. ATPE state office staff may nominate campus representatives but may nominate only one representative per campus.
  3. Each nominee must be a current member of the association and must be on the local unit’s campus representative list on file at the state office.
  4. If the nominee has a local unit, the local unit president must be made aware that the campus representative is being nominated for the award.
  5. Campus Representative of the Year Award applicants/nominees are judged in the following three achievement areas:
    • Membership Recruitment: Campus reps will be judged on their recruitment strategies and activities such as campus displays, assisting with recruitment events, promoting ATPE, and processing applications.
    • Membership Retention: This achievement area includes strategies and efforts to retain existing ATPE members on the campus.
    • Communication: Campus reps will be judged on their process for keeping members and nonmembers on the campus informed about ATPE news and activities and the tools, skills, and resources they use to assist members with questions or concerns.
  6. All members of a local unit with a representative currently sitting on the Leader of the Year Committee are ineligible to receive the award.
  7. Finalists must participate in oral interviews.
  8. Recipients of the Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year award are ineligible to apply for the award the following year.
Each year, a judging committee of ATPE members is selected by the state president and approved by the ATPE Board of Directors. This committee reviews all applications and selects up to three finalists for each category. Following oral interviews, the committee selects the recipients. The awards are presented during the ATPE Summit awards recognition event.
