ATPE is excited to announce the 15 recipients of scholarships to the 2024 ATPE Summit! This is the first year ATPE has offered individual attendee scholarships as part of its summit financial assistance program.

Congratulations to:

  • Shannon Abernathy, Carthage ISD
  • Adriana Armendariz, Corpus Christi ISD
  • Abigail Baiza, IDEA Public Schools
  • Rodelio Creer, Alpine ISD
  • Maegan Holycross, Cleburne ISD
  • Mallie Johnson, Chisum ISD
  • Indera Lopez, New Caney ISD
  • Tasha Martin, Hallsville ISD
  • Melissa McGee, Georgetown ISD
  • Selene Perez, La Joya ISD
  • Deborah Portillo, Socorro ISD
  • Fawn Simpson, Milano ISD
  • Cassandra Smith, Whitehouse ISD
  • Denise Strange, Bandera ISD

The application window was from late January to March 15. Recipients’ applications were scored based on the number of years they have worked in public education; how many times they have previously attended the summit and, if they have, how recently; whether their district has an active local unit; and a statement of interest.

The scholarships were offered in conjunction with the switch to an individual registration model; previously, attendees had to be registered by their local unit or region president, as applicable. Attendees who wish to serve as voting delegates during the annual House of Delegates (HOD) meeting must still be certified as voting delegates by the local unit or region president.

The registration deadline is June 7. Please visit atpesummit.org for more information and to register!
