Happy School Counselor Appreciation Week!

It’s National School Counseling Week, ATPE members!

From the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), “National School Counseling Week 2021 (#NSCW21), ‘School Counselors: All In for All Students,’ will be celebrated from February 1–5, 2021, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems.” This week is sponsored by ASCA and seeks to spotlight the immense impact our school counselors have on our students and their successes.

ASCA has put together a full suite of activities and events, including photo challenges and webinars. On top of that, they’ve also developed various materials to promote the appreciation week—from proclamations your superintendent or mayor could issue to certificates of appreciation and posters around your school. Click here to check out all the fun and view their full promotional toolkit.

CounselingSchools.com also put together a resource guide for this year’s National School Counseling Week. Check it out here. Show some support for Texas school counselor by seeing what the Texas division of ASCA—the Lone Star State School Counselor Association—is up to on Facebook and Twitter

School counselors are key to the social and emotional wellbeing and academic success of our students. ATPE thanks our Texas public school counselors for all you do for Texas students.
