Nominations for ATPE Awards Due Soon

Educator of the Year Award

The ATPE Educator of the Year Awards acknowledge ATPE members who demonstrate exceptional or innovative capabilities in their respective education fields. Each recipient is awarded a check for $5,000. The Educator of the Year Awards are divided into five categories: 

  • Administrator of the Year
  • Associate of the Year
  • Elementary Teacher of the Year
  • Secondary Teacher of the Year
  • Special Services Educator of the Year

Members must be nominated for the award. No self-nominations are allowed.

Those wishing to submit a nomination must complete the form by Feb. 1, 2015. Find out more about who qualifies and how to nominate a member.

Sam Houston Award for Political Involvement
The Sam Houston Award for Political Involvement recognizes individual members' outstanding achievements in five major areas and overall excellence in the growth and development of individual grassroots involvement, without regard to local unit size.

One recipient is presented with a special gift and stipend (up to $1,250) to attend ATPE's Lobby Day or other involvement events. Self-nominations are allowed.
Those wishing to submit a nomination must complete a nomination form by Feb 1, 2015. The nomination form as well as more information about this award can be found here.
