ATPE Book of the Month Club

Want to encourage your students to read for leisure and get more out of their reading? Every month we’ll choose one book from each of three reading lists compiled by the Texas Library Association and provide printable questions you can use with students for reflection or discussion. We’ll also link you to the Texas Library Association’s selections for preschool through grade 2.

*** ATPE Guest Reader Program ***

Teachers: Interested in reading one of the January, 2009 selections for the Book of the Month Club with your class? ATPE will select one teacher/class to read a January selection and create discussion questions with their students. This is a great way to engage your students in higher order thinking skills. We’ll post a picture of the class on our Web site, and we’ll send them a free copy of the book! They will also get a special certificate upon completion. If you are interested in this valuable learning experience, please e-mail prof_dev@atpe.org.
