ATPE Foundation News: May donation month, Beth Ann Rogers Literacy Grant winners and more

May Madness donation month

During May 2014, make a donation to the ATPE Foundation and help Texas educators and students blossom!  Donors who contribute to the foundation during our 2014 donation month will receive special recognition at the ATPE Summit in July.
Since 2008, the ATPE Foundation has provided $63,000 in literacy and technology grants to Texas public school and $90,000 in scholarships to current and future Texas educators. Nearly 30,000 Texas schoolchildren have benefited from the foundation’s technology and literacy grant programs.  The foundation has also distributed more than $43,000 to Texas schools affected by disasters.  None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors.

Literacy grant recipients

The ATPE Foundation would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2013-14 Beth Ann Rogers Initiative grants.  Through the Beth Ann Rogers Literacy Initiative, the ATPE Foundation provides $1,500 grants to Texas public school libraries to purchase literacy materials and modernize literacy resources. This year’s recipients are:
  • Academy of West Birdville, Birdville ISD.
  • Bane Elementary, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
  • Barrick Elementary, Houston ISD.
  • Bayles Elementary, Dallas ISD.
  • Brookline Elementary, Houston ISD.
