ATPE Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year Award

Recognize an outstanding campus rep

The ATPE Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year Award is designed to acknowledge special ATPE volunteers who prove themselves essential to the continued growth and development of our grassroots organization. Each recipient receives a check for $1,000, and the recipient’s local unit receives a check for $250 to be used for future local unit activities. The award is presented in three categories:
  • Local units with 1–200 members
  • Local units with 201–500 members
  • Local units with 501+ members
  1. Local units may nominate one or more campus representatives. Only one representative per campus may be nominated. Each local unit will determine the nomination process best suited for its needs.
  2. ATPE state office staff may nominate campus representatives.
  3. Each nominee must be a current member of the association and must be on the local unit’s campus representative list on file at the state office.
  4. The nominee’s local unit president must be made aware that the campus representative is being nominated or is applying for the award.
  5. Mail one copy of the nomination form to the state office, along with responses to the four essay questions or submit via the online form.
  6. If selected as a finalist, the nominee must be present at the ATPE Summit in Austin for oral interviews.
  7. Recipients of the Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year award are ineligible to apply for the award the following year.
Each year, a judging committee of ATPE members is selected by the state president and approved by the Board of Directors. This committee reviews all applications and selects up to three finalists for each category. Following oral interviews at the summit, the committee selects the recipients. The awards are presented later during the ATPE Summit Awards Dinner.
  1. Entries for the Doug Rogers Campus Representative of the Year Award must be postmarked no later than March 3, 2017, if mailed, or received by midnight on the same date if submitted online.
  2. Finalists will be notified in May so they can make arrangements to attend the ATPE Summit. The summit registration fee will be waived for all finalists.

Nominees should limit responses to one typed, double-spaced 8 1/2” x 11” page per question (front and back). Use Arial or Times New Roman with a minimum font size of 10 pt. The supporting documentation must be submitted electronically along with the nomination/application form.
