ATPE, Texas’ largest professional association for public school employees, seeks an energetic individual for a governmental relations specialist position.
Responsibilities include the administrative functions required to support the legislative department and providing customer service assistance to members via phone or email. Additional duties include conducting research, compiling data, creating presentations and coordinating projects.
The position requires 2-3 years administrative experience, advanced computer skills, experience with research & analysis techniques, the ability to multi-task and excellent administrative & communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have some college coursework, at least one year project management experience, some legislative experience with knowledge of public education issues and experience with a legislative tracking service such as Telicon.
