Texas' largest professional association for public school employees seeks an experienced, goal-driven, dynamic professional for a Regional Representative position based in West Texas (within 100 miles of Lubbock, Midland or Odessa). This territory includes far West Texas (from El Paso to just east of Midland/Odessa and from Amarillo south to Presidio).

The Regional Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary field staff focused on recruiting and retaining members in the territory assigned. Monitor the activity indicators of active local units using various reports. Identify and proactively assist local units in recruiting new members.
  • Initiate contact with non-members, campus and district personnel, and others, in assigned districts with no active local unit to prospect and promote interest in organizing prospective local units.
  • Work with internal support staff to outline annual metrics and incentive-based numerical goals related to recruitment and retention of members.
  • Work with assigned active local volunteers to identify and train new volunteer leaders who will represent the association at the local district level.

Additionally, the Regional Representative may provide some limited organizational support to assigned local units in the areas of communication, school board relations, and general local unit operational logistics.

Minimum requirements include a college degree along with proven sales experience and the ability to close the sale; superior communication, presentation and organizational skills; and, excellent PC skills (Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Texas education issues; will be detail oriented with a strong work ethic and will be flexible and comfortable with shifting priorities. The position requires extensive travel within the West Texas territory and the ability to home office.

Texas' largest professional association for public school employees seeks an experienced, goal-driven professional for our part-time (approximately 20 hours a week) Field Recruiter position. One will serve in the Mansfield ISD area and one in the Ft. Bend ISD area.

The Field Recruiter is considered part of the field team in the Membership Department and is responsible for visiting every campus in the district at least once during the year. Other responsibilities include speaking at meetings, helping to host/sponsor staff events and distributing marketing materials. Field recruiters will also help host recruitment events for members and campus representatives, and may attend and report on school board meetings. The Field Recruiter will occasionally work with other existing staff in their area to complete certain Membership action items.

Minimum requirements include a college degree along with some sales experience; excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills; and, excellent PC skills (Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Texas education issues; will be detail oriented with a strong work ethic and will be flexible and comfortable with shifting priorities. The positions each require some travel within the ISD area it is located in (Mansfield ISD or Ft. Bend ISD) and the ability to home office within the ISD area or in close proximity to that area.

Texas’ largest professional association for public school employees seeks an experienced writer and copy editor to join its MarCom team. Requires a journalism, communications, or related degree with at least three years’ experience working as part of an editorial team. Should be capable of managing a high volume of projects and meeting deadlines. In addition to writing and editing email marketing communications, internal communications, blog posts, and articles for publication, this role will be responsible for reporting email analytics and reviewing and recommending updates to web content. Additional requirements include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, outstanding knowledge of grammar and Chicago Manual of Style, and excellent proofreading and organizational skills. The preferred candidate will also have experience writing copy for marketing and advertising campaigns, and project management experience. Basic familiarity with Adobe software is a plus.
