Online CPE Courses

ATPE offers 42 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit through it’s free online courses. Click here to see available courses and to get started.

In addition to our regular online professional development courses, ATPE has collaborated with the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) to provide ten FREE webinars over the course of the 2011-2012 school year to ATPE members. More information

ATPE will co-host a webinar Dec. 1 with the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT). The webinar, Using Social Media and New Technology to Enhance Learning for Gifted and Advanced Students, is being held in conjunction with the 2011 TAGT Professional Development Conference and will be presented by Ian Byrd, a sixth-grade gifted-and-talented teacher and blogger. Attendees will be eligible to receive one hour of Gifted and Talented CPE credit. This event is FREE to ATPE members. Register here.

ATPE Book Circle

The ATPE Book Circle is an opportunity for you to earn continuing professional education (CPE) credit on your own time, while learning with and from other Texas educators.

Quarterly, participants in the ATPE Book Circle read a book related to educator professional development and discuss on the ATPE Idea Exchange to earn up to earn continuing professional education (CPE) credit upon course completion. Previous books studied have been Rafe Esquith's There Are No Shortcuts and A Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby K. Payne. To learn more, visit the ATPE Idea Exchange.

Videos of ATPE Summit Presentations

ATPE members may access videos of presentations from the 2011 ATPE Summit. Viewing these videos may count as "independent study" activities (not to exceed 20 percent of required clock hours) toward standard certificate renewal.

To view the videos, click on the links below. After viewing, print out a continuing professional education certificate for your personal professional development files, and complete the essay question included on the certificate.
