Welcome to Region 15 ATPE’s Web page! We are so excited to be linked with everyone.
Region 15 includes 52 independent school districts and two universities and covers many square
miles of the southwestern part of Texas. Our borders extend from Del Rio to Brownwood,
Coleman and San Angelo. Even though we are large in size, only 23 school districts in Region
15 have active ATPE local units.
Our 2011-12 officers are President - Darlene Kelly of Ballinger ATPE, Vice President - Jose
Delgado of Del Rio ATPE, Treasurer - Luz Mendez of Junction ATPE, Secretary – Pamela
Crenwelge of Sonora ATPE and Director - Sarah Beal of Coleman County ATPE.
Next July 2012 we will again be having the ATPE Summit. This will combine the state convention and
Leader U into four exciting days. The dates and location for the summit are July 14-17, 2012, in Austin.
In 2009-10, Darlene Kelly of Ballinger ATPE was a finalist for Associate of
the Year, Santa Anna received a Library Grant from ATPE Foundation, and Ballinger ATPE was a
finalist for Local Unit of the Year. In 2010-11, Ballinger ATPE got the Red Apple Award for 75-
89% of potential membership; Cheryl Buchanan of Ballinger ATPE and Sarah Beal of Coleman
County ATPE won William B. Travis PAC awards and the Stephen F. Austin PAC awards;
Darlene Kelly of Ballinger ATPE made the Ben Shilcutt 10+ Club; and Cheryl Buchanan of
Ballinger ATPE was elected ATPE State President during the summit.
I want to remind all ATPE local units to submit their 2011-12 officer lists. Remember, if an
officer list is not submitted, the state office will drop your local unit from active status!
Region 15 ATPE is committed to helping our local units grow. Come be a part of this
