<p>March 24, 2015</p> <p>Today, the House Committee on Public Education unanimously approved HB4, a bill that will provide more state funding for Texas’s pre-k programs. Below is a statement from the state’s largest educator group, the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE):</p> <p>“ATPE supports the move to full-day high-quality pre-k. HB 4—a welcome step toward this ultimate goal—provides much-needed funding that will help increase the quality, and corresponding effectiveness, of existing pre-k programs.
