Liability and Employment Rights Defense Insurance

Every eligible ATPE member is covered by up to $6 million in professional liability insurance.
This includes up to $2 million per occurrence for civil rights claims brought by students, the most common reason
educators are sued.*

Eligible ATPE members also have access to $10,000 per claim for legal costs related to employment
rights protection. The benefit is guaranteed, win or lose, by an insurance contract.*

membership benefits is contingent upon ATPE’s receipt of the entire annual membership dues amount for your appropriate membership
category. A disruption in payments to an authorized payment plan may result in discontinuation of such benefits, including
cancellation of insurance coverage for the entire membership year, retroactive to the earlier of Sept. 1 or your membership date.

educators informed, political involvement training for members who want to participate in the governmental process,
and the ATPE Advocacy Center, an online grassroots communication tool that allows you to quickly correspond with your
legislator.

work with students and increase the power of your voice by collaborating with other organizations such as the
Coalition for Public Schools and Friends of Texas Public Schools.
