The 2012 PAC’s Peak Challenge
Goal: $12,000 Deadline: May 1, 2012
Because ATPE members like you made last year’s effort such a success, ATPE is once again issuing the PAC’s Peak Challenge. The goal is simple: Raise $12,000 for the ATPE Political Action Committee (ATPE-PAC) by May 1. The members and local units contributing the most will receive special recognition in ATPE publications and at the 2012 ATPE Summit in July.
ATPE-PAC makes donations on a nonpartisan basis to candidates and officeholders who have demonstrated support for public education and ATPE’s philosophies. During the inaugural year of the PAC’s Peak Challenge, the goal of $10,000 was met and surpassed. This helped make 2011 a banner year for ATPE-PAC fundraising. With your help, we can—and will!—do even better in 2012!
Making financial contributions to candidates and officeholders is a critical part of building relationships with elected officials and a major component of ATPE’s advocacy efforts. With another election cycle underway, now is the time for you to get involved and make a donation to ATPE-PAC.
Still not sure if you should donate? Here are some things to consider:
-
Without a substantial financial base, officeholders who support public education and ATPE’s professional, nonunion philosophy are unable to compete with candidates who are backed by labor unions or private special interests. That’s why your financial contribution is critical!
-
If you make a contribution during the challenge, the amount will count toward your yearly and cumulative totals for ATPE-PAC award programs.
