Early voting for Constitutional amendments starts today

LAN Update - Archive 10/19/09

Early voting for the November's Election Day starts today and runs through Oct. 30. On the ballot are several amendments to the Texas Constitution. Though none are directly related to public education, there are three amendments related to tax appraisals and assessments, an amendment to authorize funding for research universities and an amendment dealing with limiting government's power of eminent domain.

You can find an explanation of all the amendments on the Secretary of State's Web site. Check your local newspaper for early voting locations or  click here to find polling locations in your area.

Early voting is easy and convenient and allows voters to cast their ballot at any polling location. If you don't participate in early voting, be sure to remember to cast your ballot on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
