TEA to hold hearing on vouchers for dropouts

LAN Update - Archive 06/23/08

The Texas Education Agency will hold a hearing Wed. June 25, on a controversial dropout recovery plan. The plan would allow TEA to award grants to schools, including private schools, that identify dropouts and help them receive a high school diploma or achieve college readiness. ATPE opposes the use of public funds for private schools and will submit testimony outlining our concerns about the program.

The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. in the Capitol Extension Auditorium, Room E1.004, in the Texas State Capitol Building
