Did you know that you can earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits for reading the ATPE publications Essentials and ATPE News? Reading the publications qualifies as independent study. The State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) defines independent study as the self-study of relevant professional materials such as books, journals and periodicals; independent study is not to exceed 20 percent of required hours.
