Does cold and flu season have you running to the pharmacy for relief? Is your car ready for winter weather? ATPE members can receive a 10 percent discount off of the regular everyday prices (including prices advertised in the newspaper) on Bridgestone- and Firestone-branded tires and automotive services at all Firestone Complete Auto Care Centers statewide. Join the PACT for free online mentoring

The Performance-based Academic Coaching Team (PACT) System is an online mentoring support program designed by the Texas A&M University System and funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. ATPE and the Texas A&M University System have partnered to offer this program free to ATPE members who meet the eligibility requirements. To be a member of the PACT community, a teacher must be an ATPE member and be one of the following:

• A student teacher or teacher trainee.
• In his first, second or third year of teaching.
• A mentor teacher.

Membership in the PACT System gives novice teachers access to personal, one-on-one guidance through a help request system from 7 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12–8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Retired teachers who serve as e-mentors will answer questions and provide support and resources. Chat rooms, discussion boards and other teaching tools and resources are also available through the site.
