The Administration Department acts as liaison and support for the State Officers and Board of Directors and the ATPE association staff. Members of the department are involved in ATPE staff management, member services development, ATPE facilities issues, liability insurance claims and negotiations, and other special projects concerning members and staff.

The Accounting Department is a support function of ATPE. In addition to accounts payable, accounts receivable and invoicing, the accounting department receives phone calls and correspondence from ISD's, members and locals with regard to payroll deduction.

The Communications Department publishes ATPE News, Essentials, ATPE Leader and other publications to keep members informed about their profession, both inside and outside of the classroom. The communications staff can answer your questions about any of these publications, including how to advertise in ATPE News. The department also provides ATPE local unit and region leaders with business cards, newsletter mastheads and personalized letterhead for their local units or regions.

The Governmental Relations Department supports members by advocating ATPE's Legislative program with officeholders on the local, state, and national levels. The department also assists members in advocating ATPE positions by conducting and promoting political involvement training, candidate surveys, campaign forums, and meetings with candidates and officeholders. The department provides information to members on legislative and policy issues.

The Meetings and Conferences Department plans and facilitates the ATPE annual state conventions, meetings and special events.

The Member Legal Services Department provides legal advice and representation to members on terminations, disciplinary matters, illegal discrimination, benefit problems, and other employment-related matters.

The Member Services Department answers questions regarding membership with ATPE, programs available to members, and association sponsored events.  The department coordinates the annual membership drive, the sale of promotional items and provides general support to the association's 6,000 volunteer leaders.  Member Services field personnel bring ATPE's message to ISD's, colleges, and universities throughout the state.

The Professional Development Department offers members a variety of learning opportunities such as hands-on, interactive workshops and discussion/study groups on relevant and innovative topics.

The Public Relations Department is responsible for promoting the association's positions, events and activities to all entities that have a stake in public education and in ATPE. The department seeks and capitalizes on opportunities to get positive media coverage both locally and at the state level. In addition to state level projects, the department works with local units to create and maximize existing public relations and media relations opportunities. Members of the department also serve as ATPE spokespersons when dealing with the media.

The Technology Support Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Association membership database, maintaining the computer network, the telephone/voice mail systems, and the ATPE website.
